The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) takes great pride in being the change makers of Sri Lanka’s Accounting arena. For over six decades, we have been the vanguard in developing the Accounting profession across Sri Lanka, while also playing a vital role to ensure the Accounting profession continues to be an important catalyst in the success of Sri Lanka.
The Institute provides its members with knowledge and guidance based on the highest professional, ethical and technical standards. We ensure a high level of professional competence among the membership and those aspiring to be members. We influence national policy formulation in areas related to the accountancy profession and contribute, in a significant manner, to the national development efforts. Our aim is to provide leadership to the accounting profession in Sri Lanka.
Members of CA Sri Lanka are globally recognised and are identified as a brand of unique and versatile professionals, with the ability to steer any business successfully. CA Sri Lanka has produced over 9,000 members, who are recognised for their professional integrity, exceptional technical and perceptive skills, as well as financial discipline and out of the box thinking, which helps them add value to their organisations.
The portfolio of CA Sri Lanka members comprises of Chairmen, Partners, Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, CEOs and CFOs, among other high-profile designations. CA Sri Lanka is the National Professional Accountancy Organisation, and stakes claim to being the preferred and recognised destination for accountancy education in Sri Lanka, with a mammoth student population of 35,000 who are aspiring Professional Accountants.
Our qualification is globally recognized and a considerable number of our chartered accountants are spread across 42 countries in all continents. The Institute is the only accredited authority that formulates Accounting and Auditing Standards in Sri Lanka. The application of these Standards is mandatory for all companies enacted under the Companies Act of 2007.
The Council of CA Sri Lanka is the governing body responsible for policy formulation and strategy development. The Council is structured to accommodate a total of 16 Council Members, including the President, Vice-President and six members elected by the members while the remining eight members are appointed by the Hon. Minister of Trade.
